| Valerj Pobega and Debi Mazar |
Debi Mazar and Dita Von Teese kicked off the inspired fundraiser during an Earth Day fete last week at their favorite L.A. vintage boutique
The Way We Wore. The pair resembled 1950s debutantes in their cinched-waist party frocks, but they sounded like sailors on weekend passes with their hilarious send-up of old-school fashion show commentary. Rachel Leigh Cook, Perez Hilton, Josie Maran and Shiva Rose were among the pals who came out to hoot and holler.

| Sequin hoodie and leggings by Swan Song |
On the leopard-covered pedestal, and on the auction block, are 32 looks and three pieces of jewelry reimagined from old castoff clothes and accessories by L.A. and New York designers, including Jeremy Scott, Kevan Hall, Some Odd Rubies, Magda Berliner and J.C. Obando. The new interpretations are amazing, each thoughtfully reconsidered. But the most imaginative of them all is shop owner Doris Raymond, who conceived the project and is giving 100% of the monies raised to the nonprofit FutureFashion.
If only all recycling were this glamorous.
